I would like to synthesis opinion and experience regarding the use of AI Chatbox, search engine and writing - editing software tools. How do I reference and acknowledge it's contributions? What are the limits, and safeguard or guilderail on integrity and referencing, as COPE has clearly positioned it can not be an author nor authority. I have seen the contents changing as roles and rejection on a content is given to the system, and compared across type and system (3rd party) offering their use with API access. Thanks

Human oversight is essential for analysis, conclusions, and integrity. AI contributions can be acknowledged in the methodology or acknowledgments section. For example, "Portions of this work were generated using [specific AI tool], and its output was reviewed, edited, and approved by the author(s)." However, AI-generated content should not be cited as authoritative, and the final responsibility must rest with the researcher.
