Interesting question. I found two links that may be of interest - the first is a slideshare presentation that gives ideas for using IoT in libraries for things, such as heating and light control to save costs to sensors that could let librarians know the most popular aisles in order to improve signage. The second link is an article describing some ways libraries could evolve using the IoT, such as letting patron borrow things other than books like drones or generators.
