There is much concern among school leaders and educators in my region of New Zealand that there could be many students in local schools who are P-Babies. This colloquial term refers to school students whose mothers were using methamphetamine (or P as it's known locally) while they were pregnant.
In order to explore what harms have and/or continue to be done, I first need to understand what happens when a pregnant woman has methamphetamine in her blood stream.
