Hi Naga. One important thing is that not always using lubricant, the surface roughness is improve. If you want, you can see the paper attach (excuse me because is in spanish).
When people use lubricant in machining process is for maintain lower the wear of the cutting edge. If you keep the shape of the cutting edge, normally the surface finishing is better. But in occasions, if the flow quantity and / or pressure are insufficient, the result can be poor, as I show in the paper.

The lubricant should have low viscosity, so that it can properly settled down between tool and workpiece and provides the cushioning effect, hence leads to low vibration in the machining and increase the surface finishing
as per heat flow,crystallization,both tool tip, work area under machining increase its strength hence the surface finish good compared to coolant.when compare to flow ability coolant is good,lubricant is moderate
The cutting fluid play an important role by machining process. But, today you could realize the machining process without cutting fluid, due to the cutting inserts which are build to realize the machining process without cutting fluid. For some cutting inserts is required to use coolant system if we want to achieve the best quality of surface roughness.
