Some combustion-LES models choose the turbulent velocity u' based on the product of the strain magnitude and the filter-size (e.g. G-Equation). 

If the SGS / Residual Kinetic Energy (transported) was available, we could get u' from k_sgs but which u' would be more appropriate?
