Hi!

First, student satisfaction in the short perspective; measurement of student happiness with a course, or shuld not be directly confused with teaching/learning effectiveness.

In a longer perspective, I think that what students like with blended, or as I rather say: ICT- integrated teaching/learning are things like

a) Having more options on how to study and learn. I do not believe much in theories about learning styles, but having options about how to proceed in a course is a very good thing.

b) Flexibility - which enables adaptions to conditions in the personal life puzzle.

Use of ICTs, on the teaching and/or the learner side seems to almost always enable more flexibility.

I think a broader perspective of use of ICTs, new and old, is useful in this context. The printed text brought about similar changes as the ones we see now as an example. See my attached thought experiment about blended learning.

1. Quality preparation of teaching contents 2. Good ICT Infrastructure 3. Readiness of students for cooperation and support / collaboration 4. Quality mentoring tutoring 5. clearly defined goals of education
