Yes, I think that artificial intelligence will be used in transportation, as well in cars.
How will AI affect? The high effect wil be in decreasing of human ability to think, unfortunately. I mean, people are becoming dependent on technical devices.

Useing micro controller, for engine would increased the fuel efficiency and could increased the lifespan of engine, but it used, in driving, would increased the complication for driver, if is not self drive transport,"As micro controller is smart, as smart the user", I like to drive old models than the new latest....

I think introducing AI in autonomous cars for driving control system and orientation is a great step. If we see in terms of safety of people, it will be really beneficial especially when the driver is drunk or not feeling well. With a advanced tech already present in the vehicle like AI, car accidents will be reduced.
But again it will be creating new types of threat to human life. Giving a computer enough power to control the driving is not safe. Hackers around the world will be paid highly to hack the system and with this, causing a great harm to the person will become too easy. System can be bugged or a virus can be implanted due to which the decisions taken by system can be wrong. To avoid all this and before introducing AI, security of the AI system should be major concern. If the driver sees something going wrong with AI, a pre install manual button should be there which can kill AI and driver can take control of car again.
In the context of the above considerations, the following question is also current:
Will the development of autonomous cars be correlated with the development of electric cars? Will these technologies be developed in parallel? In the future, will a significant part of autonomous cars also be electric cars?
