As an experiment, I don't think there are any major threats. See the website: https://www.or.is/english/carbfix/carbfix-project Scaling up would be different, but the environmental risks would be site-specific (earthquakes? leakage? ...?). I have not seen an economic analysis for large-scale application, but the costs of leaving CO2 in the atmosphere are also high, so some risks are acceptable.
