Aphanizomenon flos aquae (AFA) is a filamentous prokaryotic bacteria that is also known as a Cyanobacteria or Blue-Green Algae. AFA may be harvested from fresh water lakes, ponds or rivers, and dried to produce a powder that is consumed by humans.
