Hello,
i would like to know what metal characteristic should be used to design a part, which should work in cryogenic surrounding?
As i know the parameters of the materials like AISI 304 or 316 change when you put it in cryogenic.
I would like to place a part in the cryogenic and load it with a force. I have to calculate the factor to know if it would break or not. For this i need to know the yield stress of the material.
The question is what values have to be taken cryogenic (77 K) or 293K?
Unfortunately i can not find it in the literature.

I know that the properties of the solid materials change with the temperature. That is the reason why i am asking. I do not really understand what properties should be used to design them. Maybe there is some guides or examples for construction of the parts in such surroundings?

It crucially depends on what the part should do.
The design criteria for a cryogenic rocket engine are quite different from those that influence the design of a cryogenic insulation. One must tolerate high heat fluxes, and be physically strong. The latter (might) need to withstand very modest heat fluxes and can be as fragile as tissue paper.
