But the cost of micro-irrigation has and initial investment and then O and M cost may be 5-8 % annually. The average cost of the system again depends upon the spacing of the crop to be grown(row to row space and plant to plant space). The cost of these techniques in India varies from 40-50k for surface systems and 0.1 to 0.25 million Rs per ha for the micro-irrigation systems.
