PreEclampsia is a condition in pregnancy where blood pressure is persistently elevated blood pressure, oedema and protein in urine. It can go on to Eclampsia where there is fitting.
Preeclampsia is more prevalent in populations where malnutrition, especially less than 50 gm complete protein per day after 12 weeks of pregnancy, is common.
Exact cause still unknown, there are some theories that causes preeclampsia, one of them is placental hormones that causes vasoconstriction but even in postpartum period preeclampsia may appear so the exact cause still unknown.
