I have results which show declines in parasitoids and spiders in fields surrounded by increasing amounts of winter wheat (however n.s. when considering all cereals and not winter wheat alone).

Interestingly, the winter wheat (negative correlation) and all cereals (n.s.) results switch when considering ground beetles. Ground beetles declined with increasing amount of cereals (however n.s. when considering winter wheat alone).

What are the main differences between winter wheat and all cereals? I've considered insecticide application, tillage, sowing timing, but I'm not sure if I'm along the correct lines. What do you think?
