I urgently need those best image and figure scaning as well as developing softwares for my tsesis and paper write up and usually i have experience in using MS word,MS picture manager,MS power point and Adobe illustrator. But still i need the best one too.

Hi, If you know the Adobe Illustrator, then you already have the software among the best one. For me, I use Inkspace (as it is free) with comparable efficiency and output.

One thing though, you should always save your picture data in PDF (if possible), this way you will not compromise the quality, and most of the figure editing programs can read it. This will save you a lot down the lane.
