I’m exploring the development of MicroMouse robots and would like recommendations for reliable and realistic simulation platforms. Ideally, I’m looking for simulators that:

  • Allow algorithm testing without hardware
  • Offer realistic maze environments and sensor simulation
  • Support or emulate embedded systems (optional but ideal)

Additionally, could someone clarify how current MicroMouse competitions usually score performance? Do they consider only the final sprint to the goal, or is the search phase also factored into the total score? What competition are recommended and where can I read more about them ?

Any advice or reference to tools would be appreciated!
