In the light of Covid-19 pandemic, infection risks from any microbial zoonosis when manipulating bats for scientific research purposes should be taken seriously into consideration.

We're netting bats for their salvia and tissues sampling and were also collecting faeces in their roosting caves. what are the best and safe sampling methods for Bat? Are faeces sufficient for extracting total DNA and analyzing their microbial reservoirs?
