Standardization in the context of construction robotic and automation may refer to the standards in building the technology, for example with reference to Lidar, laser, or any other profilometry sensors to follow its safety standard involved. So others who may need to use similar Lidar or other kinds of sensors can use the construction automation robot with the fulfillment of the safety standards in it. For example, the restriction of usage of the robot limited to other safety highlights can be observed as well so a direct forward-path is observed when an accident happens, to remove the negligence of other possibilities of accidents when these standards are not strictly adhered to. Industrial standards in building the automated parts in construction robots, for example, the materials and components used can handle and withstand the certain environment, temperature, and hard-hit or knock damage force on the construction robot. So users relate these incidents of usages to these standardizations. Hence, standardization in this context purely refers to safety and bounded areas of safety and not so much in productivity growth involvements in the production line. Standardization in the area of construction automation does not boost GDP growth but it is meant for the industry to follow to prevent and mitigate accidents. Industrial product safety officers inspect and test the product according to the verification of the industrial standards achieved before it passes its manufacturing line for distribution and marketing.

As you said, when it comes to the standardization of construction robots, people may refer to related standards such as technological (lidar, laser, mechanics), quality control (ergonomics, safety protocols), infrastructure (power supply, standardized building components). Therefore, given that there are no direct existing standards for construction robots, I suggest we might need to establish guideline-style standards for construction robots, so that when developing construction robots, engineers can utilize this kind of standards "handbook" or "navigation" to know where to go. Maybe this is a suitable way forward.
I agree with what has been said, and standardization in general obviously has a number of advantages.
Regarding the automation-robotization besides the construction standards of such complex elements, I will bring to your attention the standardization in industrial communications (see Industy 4/0). Without standards the development couldn' possibile.
