In India for the usage of any" Herb" as a cosmetic formulation for commercial usage...it need to be prescribed for the said cosmetic purpose in any of the Text books or references as given in the schedule of :"DRUGS AND COSMETICS ACTS and Rules 1940/45" and subsequent ammedments (under schedules of Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani Homeopathic medicines Acts.)

Every country has their specific FDA rules for the cosmetic usage of herbs.

Can we give proper reference for the use of Herbal ingredients in Cosmetics by any system of medicine and What wud the quality control lssues for the specification of the same ?

1.All most all specialties of herbal medicines books provide references for use of herbs as cosmetics ( you may contact some practitioners of these specialties for understanding the formula given in the books).

2.You can also get popular or effective herbal cosmetic commercially available and try to identify each herb for its reference in the books )

3.Quality control parameters are as per the drugs and cosmetics act for herbal drugs and cosmetics.
