Nepal Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) 2011 shows that IUD uptake continues to remain as low as 1.3% among married woman. IUD is a non-hormonal contraceptive device that prevents unwanted pregnancy up to 10 years. It is considered as one of the most cost effective contraceptive and sustainable contraceptive as it requires only one visit to health providers.
It is important to explore the socio-cultural barriers, including role of husbands, in IUD uptake. I would appreciate if you could provide me specific study findings related to this issue.
