I will presume that pre-COVID-19, lecturers/professors lean heavily towards the traditional (perhaps tested and tried) timed mid-term test, quiz and final exams.
However, with many of us having to teach online now and also conduct the assessments online, we have had to adapt.
What assessment options have you adopted or tried during this period that you like (perhaps because it truly tests the students' learning and also allow for fair grading or whatever other reasons)?
Giving a problem statement for the topic which is taught during the semesters. It's far better than the questions and answer test we give during the examinations. During the pandemic, professors should focus on setting questions based on a specific and grade the students depending on their way of approach.

I have had a good experience with using online presentations via Zoom – in fact, these have been better than (in person) presentations pre-covid , perhaps because students are getting uses to the online format and it is easier to control. Submission of essay-style assignments has been largely unaffected, and online quiz-style tests are useful, even though they are not a replacement for exams.
