the erosion wear appears in case solid particles are loaded in a fluid (gas or liquid), for your composite material the erosion test is very important because this composite materials are used mainly in the aerospace application (body of airplane) and these planes go through dusty environmental with high velocity. And many erosion case studies were recorded in this concern.
Erosion test are generally carried out on coated surface to ensure the erosion resistance when it used with fluid such as in turbine blades.
In your case it depends, i think as it is a reinforced composite is and the probability of the porosity is higher which it gives you negative results so you have to be careful and decide your test on the basis of field of application.
The new technology tries to replace metallic materials by nonmetallic materials especially in pipes, therefore it's important to study the erosion of nonmetallic materials to estimate their erosion resistance for conveying oil and waste waters.
First you must define the application in which the part will be used in. Second you must define the environment in which this part will be used( your test will be carried out in wet or dry test). Third, the test temperature.Fourth please kindly read the ASTM Volume 03.02 Corrosion of Metals; Wear and Erosion
thank you for your answer Mohamed ibrahim abd aal the application was in wet test ,the temperature was at room temperature .the application in helicopter or military cars .
