I am planning to do eye tracking studies involving multiple HMI screens? Are there any wearable eye tracking devices which are available in market? I am interested in devices somewhat similar to Tobii Pro glasses II but much more affordable than these.

Sorry to piggyback on this question, we are a very low budget research facility in Tijuana, Mexico and are considering acquiring mobile eye tracking tech. Can anybody give us the ballpark pricing for Tobii Pro and Pupil Labs? (does not need to be exact pricing, just a ball park estimate)
Hi, I'm working with Pupil Core Glasses right now in a cinema study. We are using two SMI ETG 2 glasses (not available any more as SMI belongs to Apple now) and two Pupil Core glasses (loaned from different eyetracking research groups in Switzerland). Both glasses have their (dis)advantages for our study. The calibration process for the SMI ETG glasses is much faster and easier to handle (especially if you don't have a lot of eye tracking experience) than for the Pupil Core glasses, but you can choose between different calibrations procedures with Pupil Core. People with glasses cannot be tracked with the SMI ETG (only if you have the special kit with corrected glasses to apply with SMI ETG 2.5), it works sometimes with Pupil core (not always as it depends on the form of the glasses). People with rather asymmetrical eyes were difficult to calibrate with Pupil Core for binocular tracking, mostly I could track them only monocular.
Price? Big advantage for Pupil Core, but I don't know if they will last as long as SMI glasses. Seven years ago the whole SMI package with glasses, laptop, flight case, licence dongle and support (which stopped two years ago) was around 20'000$, but different research groups could use it 6 years at our and other Universities (two SMI ETG glasses from our University stopped working this year). I don't know the price for the Tobii glasses, but I think it used to be similar like the price for the SMI glasses. The price for Pupil Core starts at 1840 € for monocular glasses (but you need also a compatible laptop like e.g. MacBook Pro works well) and around 2740€ for binocular glasses. Just be aware that it's more difficult to do good eye tracking with Pupil Core if you don't have experience in this field, it's easier with the Tobii glasses (similar to SMI). Hope this helps!
