Some journals follow certain well-known academic institutions (universities) while others do not. Are there any advantages for publishing on journals that follow academic institutions compared to those which do not?

These journals have better reputations, so should you succeeded in publishing your article in them, it will definitely boost your CV.
One of advantages would be a considerably high probability that publishing in such journal will not require APC - an Article Processing Charge, or a payment made to the publisher for making their work open access...
