If we operate with Raman laser well above threshold, for example, about 10 times, then the increase of laser efficiency due to double-pass pumping should be minimum in comparison with a single-pass pumping ( 5 times above threshold) . Is it right ?

Also, it seems, that due to a large pump depletion after first pass, the second pass will not lead to a smoothening of a longitudinal temperature gradient in Raman crystal. Is it right ?
