Reviewer has asked to demonstrate that EIS data conforms the three basic conditions for impedance measurements. Can anyone please clarify what are these 3 conditions?
in the EIS measurements there are many parameters to take into account (.... I would say certainly more than three !!!). Are you sure the referee does not refer to the type of electrochemical cell used? Three types are used (2, 3 and 4 setup electrodes); make sure you have indicated this information in the paper. If this were not, could you please provide some more specific information?
It is sure that the referee did not talk about the 2/3/4 electrode configuration. He is mainly referring to the criteria that needs to be taken care during the EIS measurements.
I hope to be of help by sending you a note that considers the parameters related to the EIS technique (https://www.gamry.com/application-notes/EIS/basics-of-electrochemical-impedance-spectroscopy/) and, in attached, some indicative considerations related to measuring on metal samples coated with different coatings of which we wanted to evaluate the protective power and on which no negative observation was ever made by other fellow researchers.
