Hi, me and my team mates are currently planning to pursue the topic of Activated Carbon from Coconut as a Water Filter. And we would like to ask for your suggestions and knowledge on what specific concepts are still underexplored in the said topic. We heard that this study is mostly common and we would like to know if there are still areas that need to be improved in the existing studies so we may have an idea on where to focus our study on. Your suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you.
Some challenges that I can think about this material are:
1. It is adsorption method, so it is not a clean/sustainable technology and will need further treatment
2. The useful service life is short
3. If the filter is not used for a long period of time, it may become full of bacteria
4. It is not effective for removal of some pathogenic bacteria and viruses, heavy metals, fluoride, nitrates, etc.
