Yes SAE is one of them. this membership is highly useful for a mechanical engineers willing to be a member of automotive community. However, others are also there dealt with special cause of mechanical membership in are area of pure mechanical design, welding, joining, corrosion, stress, mechanical properties, machines and mechanisms, kinematics, robotics, precision mechanical engineering, foundry, refrigerating, production and many others.
