Hi, I am working on research related to DF antennas. I have come across a number of techniques such as Manual DF, Watson Watt, Pseudo Doppler, Correlative Interferometry. My question covers 3 different parts:
- What are some of the most recent developments such as antennas and techniques in DF?
- What are the parameters and their tradeoffs once it comes to DF antennas?
- What are the complexities involved with working on VHF DF antennas?
Any help and guidance in given areas will be highly appreciated.

Some considerations for designing DF antennas are:
1. Bandwidth
2. Cooperative/non-cooperative targets (this will determine whether the target will transmit a signal or whether it will be illuminated by your DF system)
3. Maximum number of targets
4. Signal-to-noise ratio considerations (this will be influenced by your antenna design)
5. Antenna beamwidth and polarization
6. Field-of-view
7. Type of direction-finding (amplitude only, amplitude/phase, etc.)
