Ideally I would like to use free software that can be used with a Macintosh. My objective is to quantify individual swimming patterns from 2-dimensional video data. I would like to collect individual track data such as distance traveled, average speed, instantaneous speed, turning behavior, turn angles, resting behavior.

I have used Douglas Brown's program "Tracker" from https://github.com/OpenSourcePhysics but I've had problems with the program crashing if the files are too large.

Another program we have used is MaxTraq (http://www.innovision-systems.com/Products/Software.html) but these run on Windows computers with a 15 day trial time.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
