Hello! I'm looking for examples of successful partnerships involving researchers from a broad range of disciplines working together to do one or more of the following:

  • Establish a new interdisciplinary field. Example: the Microbiome for the Built Environment Network (https://microBE.net)
  • Define a research agenda. Example: Frumpkin et. al. (2017). Nature contact and human health: A research agenda. Environmental Health Perspectives, 125(7), 075001.

Article Nature Contact and Human Health: A Research Agenda

  • Establish common definitions for key terms. Example: Del Giudice et. al. (2018). What Is Stress? A Systems Perspective. Integrative and comparative biology, 58(6), 1019-1032.

Article What Is Stress? A Systems Perspective

  • Accelerate the accumulation of generalizable findings. Example: The Psychological Science Accelerator. (https://psysciacc.org)

The above are some of the best examples I'm aware of in that they are all aiming for goals that will benefit multiple disciplines.

What other examples are you aware of that belong in this ambitious category?

I'm looking for models and best practices to emulate in future projects related to the influence of time spent in the outdoors and green/blue spaces on human health and well-being.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Catherine Baumgartner
