Hi! The Von Mises rule cannot be used for non-isotropic material, and the Hill rule should be used instead. The Prandtl-Reuss rule is a flow plastic rule and it is energetically associated with the Von Mises rule, thus there are no particular thermodynamic conditions to be satisfied. However, when a flow-plastic rule (not directly energetically associated with the used yielding function) is employed, the thermodynamic boundaries given by the intrinsic dissipative nature of the plastic strains must be satisfied by imposing the proper inequalities.
