What are natural bound exciton (A0X), free electron to acceptor level exciton (FA) and donor acceptor pair transition and how are these distinguished?

In PL spectra, these terms are commonly used. It is very difficult to understand, how one specific value of wavelength (energy) specify for particular transition. What is the method to assign particular point for these transition?
