@ "coexistence of diverse transitions patterns" : imagine two groups: muslim girls of Bosnian origin living in a provincial town in a peripheral area and mainstream, middle class boys living in the capital, transition patterns will differ for them, mariage age will be earlier or later, school careers, process of choosing a partner, of leaving parental home will be different, significance of finding a job is differently weighted.
excellent - looking at socio-cultural patterns and difference - within a developmental paradigm - I guess. So the question, are we trying to study or capture the role of exogenous and/or external factors that come to influence particular transitions: marriage, puberty, leaving home, job and having children - but keeping in mind though they are governed and operated by social norms and ingrained within cultural-history - specific to context and population groups. So is the focus more on sociology?

I suppose discovering collaborative practices and public methods of agreeing_controversy is hugely important in "producing" adulthood and its sense of responsibility, i.e., capability of belonging or partecipating to the "polis'" life.
