People generally say happiness have many health benefits. In your opinion, what are some ways happiness improves health outcomes? Is there a scientific logic to support this notion?
I am not sure of its scientific validity but some grey literature suggests that there are several means that connect happiness with health. Since stress and anxiety are major causes for high blood pressure or hypertension, stroke, heart disease, happiness reduces the risk for those conditions. Improved immune system and reduced impact of high pressure situations are also outcomes of general happy attitudes.
Scientific studies have shown that happiness has a positive effect on physical health, which helps to strengthen the heart muscle. This prevents heart attacks, facilitates metabolism, avoids insomnia, strengthens the body's immunity and improves the appearance of the skin.
One of the benefits of happiness is that it improves the mood of the person and gives him a large positive energy that can get rid of tension, anxiety and depression, and happiness helps calm nerves and muscles, which helps to get rid of mental disorders and symptoms.

Of course I agree with most of the answers. I'm sure there should be a strand of literature supporting the positive correlation between happiness and health, but I do not know it. If I should provide a scientific contribution to this topic, I think I would apply some parameters related to Quality of life on a sample of people who declare to be happy and would compare it with a control.

Happiness is a period of serenity in your life. It is an overall satisfaction with the life around you, with your professional achievements or current progress. It is the absence of any serious disease, absence of social troubles. Unhappy mind is full of concern and thoughts of 'how to...' (how to overcome with troubles, how to unravel difficult situations. etc.). So, going from the opposite site, 'unhappiness' is extremely harmful for the man in all aspects of his life (health, career, family).

Happiness relaxes certain muscles/tissues of human body or reduces stress. Happiness is an outcome of stress management. stress damages some vital organs of human body and is one of the causes diseases like diabetes, hypertension etc.
In a cross-sectional study: Happiness scores were associated with less advanced stages of habitual cigarette smoking among Adolescents. This is another indirect health benefit for the happier people !
