There is many dedicated to some research area. i.e. for information science - E-Lis http://eprints.rclis.org/ . What is your paper research area? And of course the competitor of Research Gate is Academia.edu
Dear Anna; thanks for your response and the information. I will check E-Lis now. It is OK to have some focusing on information science, computer science, educational technologies. Academia.edu is also great as you mention. More suggestions are welcome; thanks again!
all of them are Preprints. One can include the article prior to publishing it is open access. The scientists may give their feedback, based on that or otherwise, the author can publish article in any journal. Once published it may come under copyright unless it is published in OA journals
pl add one more
https://arxiv.org/
Preprints in Maths, Physics, Computers, statistics. More than 8000 preprints are added per month.
Dr Taylor had already mentioned about preprints at
Dear Sangeeta; thank you very much for the suggestion; DSpace is great so I will use it (:
Dear Laxman; thank you very much for your comment. As you mention, it is a good option to have feedback on your preprint. Also, it is good to have alternative platform to spread your work in case of OA.
I had given three such preprint databases. we all should promote OA resources. Now they r available in thousands. Even Commercial publishers are promoting OA resources. Governments are promoting and making it mandatory to publish public funded research in OA resources.
just now i added one more preprint database in my earlier comment. ie.
https://arxiv.org/
Preprints in Maths, Physics, Computers, statistics. More than 8000 preprints are added per month.
There are other OA resources like books, text books, ref sources, Courseware etc.
Prathamesh Deshmukh I tried most, if not every, of the site you mentioned. https://zenodo.org seems to be the best. As everything related to China ChinaXiv is not an open site. It will ask for true name, e-mail verification and phone verification, which all other site do not require. Finally, I found researchgate is a good alternative too.
Just check part 4 of my Research Tools mind map. You may find a plenty of Open Access repositories https://www.mindmeister.com/39583892/research-tools-by-nader-ale-ebrahim?fullscreen=1
