What actually would be the benefits of becoming an academia?

Many people keep refusing to join this sector probably because they do not understand the benefits therein. Therefore, can we the academia try to educate our self on what would be the benefits of belonging to this unique sector of the economy,

Benefits of becoming an academia can include the following:

Knowledge contribution to society through research works.

Continuous learning & applying deep knowledge gained - some of the learning outcomes made the academician a subject matter expert / consultant in their specialized fields

Provide opportunity to share knowledge with next generations / students through lecturing, mentoring, co-research etc.
