Were the earth to stop its rotation, what would be the gravity of the earth's centre?

Centripital force f=mv^2/r. Now the velocity is zero so force is zero. Due this reason it will be fall on the sun.

The earth's inertia is what keeps it moving in its orbit about the sun. What sort of interaction do you suppose it would take to suddenly stop this motion?
