Hello, dear colleagues! I would ask you for a little help.

Actually, I'm doing a multivariate linear regression analysis in the SPSS and one of the independent variables has negative values. In other words, "disputatible" variable is POP (population) which is expressed by the population growth rate, and the values are negative because the country in my sample has a depopulation problem.

I always transform values into natural logarithms before I start my SPSS analysis, and for this variable that's impossible because of negative values.

What to do in this case? I cannot exclude this variable from the analysis because it has a significant impact on my dependent variable.
