I collected population based data and want to analyze them according to quintile of the population distribution of household wealth (e.g. coverage of antenatal care by quintile).
In my understanding, after computing factor weights (or component 1) by principal component analysis, I should assign a wealth index score to each respondent and determine the range of wealth index scores for each quintile.
How can I perform these using R or EZR?

If I understand the problem correctly, you are wanting to convert a continuous numerical variable (wealth) to a categorical variable (wealth_quintile). You won't need to run a PCA for this problem. Here is an example of how to do it using a built-in R dataset:
