Can anyone recommend a key paper explaining in detail the method to assess vegitation change using NDVI time series and applying the method into a specific case study? Input data can be Landsat, Sentinel-2 or MODIS.
Otherwises, can anyone suggest a method to conduct this assessment?

Please have a look at our papers on change detection of Fagus (beech) forest in Italy 2008 and for tropical forest in Bolivia 2006.
A lot of NDVI-based methods have been developed for this purpose. Have a look at this paper:

Thanks everybody. I decided to use linear regression approach suggested in the article introduced by Santonu Goswami to assess trend of NDVI across time scale of 5 years from 2013 to 2018. The input data is Landsat-8 image.
Then I run into another problem. Because Landsat data is not continuous for some scenes are useless because of cloud cover (more than 70-90%), I can only take two scenes for a year, some year I took data of February and November, some I could only take data of February.
I have another question. Does it make sense to assess the trend using this irregular time step like this?

I'm now searching for a way to download them which is a daunting job on considering the amount of data (1.5Gb each).
