Dear colleagues, do you know something about experimentations similar to experiment from "An examination of undetected typing errors" by Fred J. Damerau and Eric Mays but for Russian or Ukrainian ?

The meaning of this article is that pruning of the dictionary is not a solution for better detecting real-word errors.

In "English spelling and the computer" by Roger Mitton says that "A recent study has shown that, when an uncommon word occurs, it is far more likely to be a correct spelling of a rare word than a misspelling of some other word (Damerau and Mays 1989). This may not be true of some highly obscure words that resemble common words, such as yor and stong, so perhaps some judicious pruning is advisable.".

Anybody knows something about using this "judicious dictionary pruning"?
