While I haven't personally applied ChatGPT-4 specifically, I can share some general ideas and considerations. Chatbots like ChatGPT-4 can provide valuable language learning experiences and can be utilized in language learning to facilitate practice, provide feedback, expand vocabulary and grammar, offer writing support, and personalize the learning experience. But it's important to note that they should not replace human interaction and guidance. Integrating chatbot technologies should be done in conjunction with traditional language learning approaches, incorporating opportunities for meaningful conversations with native speakers and language instructors. This blended approach ensures a comprehensive and well-rounded language learning experience.
On Monday we were doing a collaborative learning using ChatGPT in class.
We were studying the topic of Digital Media Ownership and create an Encyclopedia of the top 5 media groups/magnats in each country we had students from (16 countries). This took around 20 minutes of the classroom and most of the collaborative work was not about the ChatGPT skills, but about digital collaboration between 30+ students in one documents and very low skills in online doc-editing. Which was a surprise for students in the first place.
The task involved cross-referencing the info from ChatGPT to ensure it's not Hallucinating, checking if the data is current and providing links (and embedding them into the text) to support the claims. Over the week the task is finalize the documents and get an overview of what's the situation in each country with DM ownership and how it impact the inner politics.
