Should the patient fast for 12 hours and if so, does he have to drink to fill the bladder before the scan?

Medical History: 53 Y Female with uterine prolapse.
The urologist asked for CT (non-contrast) to confirm that the prolapsed uterus is the main cause and to exclude any other abnormalities before the surgery (Vaginal hysterectomy).
With regard to your Q (Surgical procedures before) : Yeah, 2 Caesarean deliveries along with 3 vaginal deliveries and nasal polyp surgery
and the previous 2 US scans didn't show any abnormalities within the kidney which were done 2.5 years ago.
So what is your opinion on this procedure and what are the preparations?
