im working with a mixture of textile dyes. i would like to simulate real textile waste water which would have greater concentration of salt and a mixture of dyes.
most of the researchers stated that : about 5-50% of the dye is lost during dyeing, or they provide statistics on the annual amount of dyes that have been released into the water streams.
instead, i would like to know the concentration ranges of dyes and salt in there. any publication links would greatly help. thanks.
PS: i have already searched google scholar where in a few articles, the dye concentration is mentioned in Pt-Co scale.

The concentration of dyes and salt in textile effluents depends on several parameters such as the type of dyeing process, dyes used, the nature of the effluent. It is better to specify the nature of the effluent to be simulated.

I agree with Neji Ladhari, it is important to focus on a specific stream. Dye concentrations and compositions can vary significantly. However to have a general idea I think I can help. For one of my recent papers I was searching for exactly the same information. What I could find was the following:

I had more papers but alas, removed them from my computer. All in all I would say if you take a 1 (w/w)% salt solution and vary the dye concentration from 10 to 500 mg/l

Dear Leo, Thanks for the detailed info provided. from my literature survey,i feel that 100 ppm is an appropriate and more practical concentration of dye. increased dye concentrations in the effluent would only incur losses to the industry.

I completely agree with Neji Ladhari and Leo Vleugels. You will find a lot of papers with a wide range of dye and salt concentrations because textile dyeing and finishing processes are very varied.
I've work with the treatment of industrial textile wastewaters from different firms for reusing them in the same industries. Salt concentration varies with the requirement. Mostly it is used in the concentrations of about 50-250 g/L.
