If I have two antennas at transmitter called T1 and T2 and signals are simultaneously transmitted from both antennas at same frequency towards two antennas at the receiver called r1 and r2. Is it possible to limit the signals in my system model such that r1 cannot get any signal from T2, and it only receives from T1? While r2 only receive from T2 and not from T1?
When water is splashed to two neighbouring holes, definitely it will enter in both. Same for waves. However, this issue is solved by receiving two waves with different frequencies. Then by demodulation signals are recovered...you know the rest...
Try using orthogonal polarizations at the same frequency. Different frequencies will work too.
The question led me to believe that both pairs of antennas were close together. If the antennas are only a small angle apart, seen from the other equipment, beam-forming is not very feasible unless the frequency is very high, eg 80 GHz or above, because the angle between the peak of a beam and a null is going to be about 60 degrees (30 degrees for a 2 element array) times the ratio of wavelength to antenna width. Either the two receivers or the two transmitters have to a long way apart, or very large, in wavelengths,, or both.
