We often search for potential solutions for building peace and harmony in the society, but conveniently ignore the power of traditions which have been created for the same purpose. For us, the formally educated (following western system) folks, the folk arts and traditions are outdated, but the reality could be otherwise. I assume that certain folk arts like Oggu Katha (a kind of traditional folk art form found in Telangana state of India), acts as the means of building social capital and fostering communal harmony between agricultural and pastoralist communities of that region. I was wondering if any studies are available on those lines. Thank you!
