It is wanted to evaluate the hydraulic performance of an EGSB reactor to characterize the hydrodynamics of the reactor. The feed to the reactor is still unknown, due to the composition of the feed depends on the results of biomethane potential tests to co-digest up to three substrates of 5 possibles. Thus, the tracer muss be as innocuous as possible for the anaerobic digestion process.

There is a wide range of possibles tracers such as sodium chloride, Eosin Y, bromophenol blue, blue dextran, potassium bromide, etc., any of these can be used or any other while they accomplish the necessary conditions to be a tracer.

There is (are) any specific recommendation to anaerobic co-digestion systems? Can you recommend any bibliography that compares the effectiveness of different tracers in anaerobic co-digestion and if this is not possible in another process (es)?

Thank you very much in advance and all the best
