Globally land and water pollution is increasing day by day. On the other hand these are two basic sources of food supply. Can land and water pollution influence future food supply to a large extent and threaten food security plans.
The unsafe use of non-conventional sources of water – especially wastewater – in agriculture can lead to the accumulation of microbiological and chemical pollutants in crops, livestock products and soil and water resources and ultimately to severe health impacts among exposed food consumers and farm workers
To add on land, we are seeing land sizes decreasing and with land being polluted then the land on which our crops is going to be reduce and consequently increasing the risk of food insecurity which is one of our SDG.
