i want to compare a gender based data that show
e-coli (bacteria) in male 45 and in female were 55 .
in digit i know female are more affected by the bacteria (e-coli) but actually i want to know
which test should be applied to determine that there is actually a statistical significant difference in male or female ?

These are nominal data of two group (infected or not infected), so chi-squared test is used to determine whether there is a significant difference between the two groups or not. Also you can conduct binary logistic regression to rule out the effect of age.
When you said 45 and 55, do you meant 45% and 55%? or 45 cfu/ml or 55cfu/ml. Your unit is very important to suggest the type of stat analysis to apply
