I am a civil engineering student and for one of my coursework, I have to analyze a steel structure under fire conditions on ANSYS APDL.
Firstly, I need to analyze each beam and column under elevated temperature and lastly, the entire structure.
I really need some help.
1. Firstly, what material shall I use for individual beams and columns?
2. Secondly, what material shall I use for the entire structure and how should I proceed?
3. Finally, is it possible to apply loads as well as temperature on the entire steel structure and observe the time it takes to complete failure?
I really need some guidance and I would really appreciate any type of help. Please bear in mind I am completely new to this software,

1) USE MPDB (Material Property Database) for material properties and you can import them directly into APDL.
2) STEEL 316 is commonly used.
3) Yes you need to carry out coupled field i.e thermal - structural analysis. Import your thermal loads into structural analysis then you can analyze the failure correctly.
